Walter Reese  Catron
Walter Reese Catron, 88 of Nottingham Way in Fairmont, GA died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. Born October 21, 1924 in Five Oaks, VA he was the son of the late John E. Catron and Lucille Duncan Catron. Walter was retired from the U.S. Air Force with twenty two years service and Lockheed Aviation in Marietta, GA with seventeen years service. During his military career he served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Moose Lodge. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. Carroll Catron; one son, Walter R. Catron, Jr.; two daughters, Joyce Marie Birch and Beverly Lynn Hankins; and two brothers, Arnold A. Catron and Everette J. Catron. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Jean May and husband John of Mobile, AL; two sons, David Catron of Shandong Province, China and Richard Scott Catron of Calhoun, GA; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Rob Catron and wife Letha of Princeton; and one sister, Loretta Humplick and husband Raymond of Houston, TX. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Ed Pettus officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley with the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council conducting military graveside rites. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Catron, II, Ben Gay, Tracy Lusk, Zachery Lusk, Josh Lusk, and John Mark Verne’. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Friday.
