Obituary for Margaret "Margie" Marino Padgett

Margaret "Margie" Marino  Padgett
Margaret “Margie” Hale Marino Padgett, 87, of Straley Avenue in Princeton passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Cassell’s Personal Care Home in Princeton after a long illness. Margie was born May 3, 1924 in McDowell County to James and Abby Maxie Hale. Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Frances Hale Christian, Mabel Hale and Bobby Jean Hale; brothers, Elbert Hale, Robert Hale, Jay Hale, and Blake Hale; first husband, Edward P. Marino; second husband, James A. Padgett; and step son, Lynn Padgett. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, best friend, and caretaker, Kaye Marino Williams of Princeton; son, James E. Marino and wife Gloria of Norfolk, VA; grandsons, Mark Williams and wife Amy of Princeton and Jimmy Marino, Jr. of Norfolk, VA; great grandchildren, Katie, Asia, and Jacob Williams all of Princeton and Samantha Marino of Norfolk, VA; sister Alma Stuart of Speedwell, VA; brothers, Don Hale and wife Barbara of Fountain Valley, CA, Ralph (Pete) Hale and wife Darlene and Ardle Hale all of Medford, OR; step children, Jimmy Padgett and wife Ann and Connie Juberget and husband Bobby all of Richmond, VA area; step grandson, Christopher Griffey of Princeton; step grand daughters, Laura Saul and Karen Smith and their families; many nieces and nephews; and beloved cat, Tyler. Margie loved people and animals and especially children. She was known as “Nanny” to not only her family but to many others. Margie enjoyed gardening and crafts and was very devoted to her family. She had worked at Leggett Department Store and Acme Market in Princeton and later retired as a bookkeeper with Virginia Food Dealers Association in Richmond, VA. She then moved to Montvale, VA and nine years ago, upon her husband’s death, she moved back to Princeton to be near her family. In keeping with Margie’s wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Cornerstone Family Church on Brick Street in Princeton with Pastor Scott Catron officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margie’s honor to the Mercer County Animal Shelter, 1003 Shelter Rd., Princeton, WV 24740.
