Shirley Temple Curton
Shirley Temple Curton, 54, of 206 Lower Pine Street in Princeton, loving Mother and Sister, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Shirley Temple was born July 8, 1957 in Bluefield the daughter of the late George Curton and Alberta Washington Curton. She was a graduate of Park Central High School in Bluefield. Shirley always loved music and enjoyed dancing. She is remembered as a loving and giving person and you could always depend on her. Shirley was a wonderful daughter, sister, and mother to others. She adored her auntie, Rosa Lee Franklin who she thought of as her second mother. She thought the world of her cousins, her beautiful “Sissy” Ann, and her brother-in-law, Stafford. In addition to her parents, one brother, Robert Lee Washington preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory is one daughter (whom she missed so much), Marsha Curton serving in the U.S. Military; three sisters, Shirley Ann “Sissy” Spriggs and husband Stafford of Princeton, Geraldine Curton and friend Archie of Bluefield, and Emma Jean Curton and friend Lane of Jacksonville, NC; and two brothers, Clarence Curton of Newport News, VA and Bobby Joe Curton and wife Zenobia of Beckley, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Barry Early, Pastor Gregory Howard and Pastor Charles Stores, II officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday.
