Anita “Jane” Gooch Faulkner, 70, of Village Green Circle in Princeton slipped from the cohesive bonds of earth to touch the face of God on Saturday, January 7, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. Born July 6, 1941 in Princeton, WV she was the daughter of the late Thomas Churchill Gooch and Hazel Marie Sutphin Gooch. Jane was a graduate of Princeton High School. She retired in 2008 from Mercer County Schools after 29 years of exhibiting endless strength, energy, and enthusiasm as head cook at Princeton Jr. High, Princeton Middle, and Princeton Primary School. She loved all the students she worked with as well as her co-workers. Jane was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. Jane’s endearing twinkle was a result of her love and devotion to her five grandchildren. She spent many years as an active spectator at their football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and choir performances. They were her pride and joy! Also, her unselfish ways and giving of herself in order to help others was evident in her dedication and devotion to her “special daughter” Sabrina, as well as to her other two daughters. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Franklin Faulkner, Jr.; and two infants that died at birth, a daughter and a son, Richard Andy Faulkner. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Rhonda Hearld of Princeton, Sabrina Faulkner of the home, and Sara Cline and husband Michael of Princeton; five grandchildren, Justin Hearld, Brad Hearld and wife Victoria, Nick Hearld, Brooke Cline and Tanner Cline; three great grandchildren, Audrie, Tymire, and Amari; and two brothers, Hubert Lee “Buddy” Gooch and wife Doti of Dublin, VA and Richard Gooch and wife Brenda of Locust, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer and Dr. David Dockery officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Hearld, Brad Hearld, Nick Hearld, Maxie Hearld, Michael Cline, Tanner Cline and Steve Adams. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 (today).
