Daniel Lee McClary, 72, of Lerona, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at his residence following a long illness. Born January 5, 1940 in Hensley, WV he was the son of the late Chester Arthur McClary and Eva Naomi Ellis McClary. Daniel was a retired HVAC technician for Mechanical Services, Inc. in Orlando, FL with over twenty five years service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Daniel enjoyed playing cards, watching football, and deep sea fishing. In addition to his parents, his stepson, Jeffrey Maham; and four brothers, Fred, Ormond, Martin and Herschel; and eight sisters, Mildred, Stella, Louella, Nellie, Narcie, Evelyn, Patricia, and Irene preceded him in death. Left to cherish his love and memories are his wife, Doris Larue Maham McClary of Lerona; one daughter, Deborah Majors and husband Christopher of Lerona; three grandchildren, Bradley Curtis, Joshua Curtis, and Amanda Curtis all of Lerona; one great grandson, Adrian Dylan Curtis of Princeton; and his loving sister, Naomi Eva Collier of Bastian, VA. In keeping with Daniel’s wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Kevin Richardson officiating. The Mercer County Veterans Council will conduct military rites.
