Betty Jo  Parks
Betty Jo Parks, 82, or 106 Lynwood Circle (JoHo Estates) in Princeton died Monday, April 9, 2012 at her residence. Born June 9, 1929 in Galax, VA she was the daughter of the late Mack Webb Cockerham and Grace Lundy Cockerham. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Princeton since 1989 moving here from Thorpe, WV. Betty was a former member of the Thorpe United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, her husband, James C. “J.C.” Parks, Jr.; one great grandson,; three brothers, Harold Cockerham, Roy Cockerham, and Rex Cockerham; and one sister, Helen Price preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Parks Milam of Princeton; one son, Daniel Ray Parks and wife Deborah of Princeton; three grandchildren, Christie Haynes, Mary Allison Worley and husband Jim, and Jonathan Daniel Parks and wife Amber; four great grandchildren, Dakota James “D.J.” Faison, Elissa Jayde Faison, Gabrielle Faison, and Emily Paige Worley; one brother, James K. Cockerham of Temple Hills, MD; and friend and caregiver, Gwen Morris of Falls Mils, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Catron officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, Rt. 2, Box 180, Bluefield, WV 24701.
