Obituary for James Frank Bowling

James Frank  Bowling
James Frank Bowling, 89 of the Pisgah Rd. in Princeton died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born in Princeton November 22, 1922 he was the son of the late James F. and Nommie Stovall Bowling. Frank was a graduate of Princeton High School. He worked 20 years for the Virginian Railroad as a blacksmith and then worked 20 years in the Herndon mines for Eastern Associated Coal. He was a member of Mt. Jackson Regular Baptist Church in Athens and Princeton Masonic Lodge #34 A.F & A.M. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War ll proudly serving in the Seabees in the Pacific Theater. In addition to his parent’s his wife, Clarabelle L. Craft Bowling, three brothers, Arthur Bowling, Johnny Bowling and Clyde Bowling and two sisters, Dorothy Wood and Nancy Bowling preceded him in death. Survivors include two sons, James L. “Jim” Bowling and his wife Gaile of Elon, NC and Charles E. “Ed” Bowling and his wife Janet of Princeton.; five grandchildren, James R. Bowling, Michael T. Bowling, Katelyn Bowling, Sarah Morton and her husband Eddie and Susanna Goodnite and her husband, Justin; two great-grandchildren, Charles and John Goodnite; one brother, Larry Bowling of California and two sisters, Helen Bowling of Princeton and Mary Wallace of Richlands, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where the Mercer County Veterans Council and the U.S Navy Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 1:00 PM to the service hour on Tuesday.
