Obituary for Mary Lee Bensey (Kester)

Mary Lee Bensey, 88, a former resident of Princeton, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at a nursing home in Charlottesville, VA. Born in Matoaka on June 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Avie McComas Kester. Mary Lee graduated from Princeton High School and attended Concord College. She retired with many years of service as a secretary at the Mercer County School Board. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. In addition to her parents, Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Bensey and two brothers, Samuel Kester and William Kester. Survivors include three sons, Roger Lee Bensey, Jr. and his wife Donna of Charlottesville, VA, John Lee Bensey and his wife Deborah of Orlando, FL and Michael Lee Bensey and his wife Sheila of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Amanda Schiller and her husband Scott, Mary Elizabeth Bensey, Courtney Bensey, Meghan Bensey, Andrew Bensey and Matthew Bensey; one sister, Peggy Wilson and her husband Tommy of Greensboro, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Thursday.
