Obituary for Alfred Edsel Cecil

Alfred Edsel Cecil, 84, of 5188 Matoaka Road in Matoaka, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at his residence. Born June 24, 1928 in Matoaka he was the son of the late Charles Cecil and Cora Harmon Cecil. He was a retired mechanic with West Virginia Department of Highways and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Irene Moye Cecil; one son, Terry Scott Cecil; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Hays of Matoaka, Debra K. Woodring and husband Loyd of Beckley, and Rebecca Lynn Johnson of Matoaka; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Lillian Richards and Trula Babington and husband Wayne all of Swedesboro, NJ. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jerry Heaton officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Wednesday.
