Samuel Dean  Young
Samuel Dean Young, 72, of 700 Hale Avenue in Princeton died Saturday, September 8, 2012, at his residence. Born April 19, 1940 in English, WV he was the son of the late Samuel Owens Young and Lula Reynolds Young. He was a graduate of Big Creek High School and a member of the Princeton First Assembly of God Church. Sam was owner-operator of Young Electric Company in Princeton until his retirement in August 2008. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Norma Jean Young and Ida Mae Pilhorn preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Delores C. Sheets Young of Princeton; two daughters, Deborah Lynn Branscome and husband Duane of Princeton and Lisa Diane Holcomb Anderson and husband Robert Eugene Anderson of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; one son, Samuel David Young and wife Amanda of Princeton; eight grandchildren, Christopher Branscome and wife Sara, Salleah E. Calfee and husband Ryan, Adam Matthew Duane Branscome and wife Autumn, Erika Danielle Young, Maggie Allyson Tiller and husband Justin, Jeffrey R. “J.J.” Holcomb, Matthew Dean Young, and Jacob Easton Young; six great grandchildren, Dakota C. Branscome, Brennen P. Branscome, Andrew K. Calfee, Noah C. Calfee, Mason S. Tiller, and Hannah Grace Branscome; seven sisters, Dorothy Orzan of Ellicott City, MD, Della LeConte and husband Lou of Ellicott City, MD, Faye Stargel and husband Phillip of Columbia, KY, Gail Phillips and husband Dean of Whitley City, KY, Janie Kiser of Frankfort, KY, Carol Matney and husband Larry of Berwind, WV, and Betty Watson and husband Eugene of Bluefield; and three brothers, Kenneth “Pete” Young and wife Nada of Whitley City, KY, Danny Young of Somerset, KY, and Curtis Young and wife Anna of Whitley City, KY. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Princeton First Assembly of God Church, Rt. 20, in Princeton with Pastor Brad Puckett, Pastor Elwood Rakes, and Pastor Charles Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made to Princeton First Assembly of God Church, 270 Assembly Lane, Princeton, WV 24740.
