Clarence Esters, 70, of 615 Wheeling Avenue in Bluefield died Monday, October 22, 2012 at Bristol Regional Hospital in Bristol, TN. Born April 28, 1942 in Bluefield he was the son of the late Henry Esters and Nancy Carter Esters Prunty. Clarence was a retired teacher with the Mercer County School System last teaching at the Mercer County Vocational Center Alternative School. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, his wife, Eunice Curry Esters preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Valerie Phillips of Bluefield; one son, Clarence Esters, Jr. of Bluefield; one granddaughter, Dalasue Phillips; one sister, Gayzetta West of Houston, TX; and close friend and neighbor that Clarence thought of as a son, Alan Royster of Bluefield. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Bishop Barry Early officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens on Littlesburg Road with the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council conducting military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday.
