James Marvin Grose
James Marvin Grose, 77 of 105 Garden Oaks in Princeton died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at his residence. Born in Stevenson, WV April 18, 1935 he was the son of the late Everette Grose and Ruby Blankenship Grose Milam. He retired as the Chief Mine Inspector for Pocahontas Land Corporation after 28 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton. Marvin was a member of Princeton Elks Lodge #1459, Princeton Moose Lodge #1521 and a regular with his morning breakfast group, the “Ten Cent Millionaires”. He never met a stranger and was an avid WVU fan that dearly loved his family and friends and was loved by them in return. He had been a resident of Princeton since 1952 moving here from Stevenson. Survivors include his wife, Linda Kay Maynard Grose; two daughters, Donna Maddox and Pam McCoy and husband Charlie and one son, Jeff Grose and his wife Tina all of Princeton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three brothers, Jack Grose and his wife Wanda, Gary Grose and his wife Beverly all of Princeton and Cliff Milam and his wife Sandy of Florida. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marvin will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Princeton with Dr. David Dockery and Pastor Archie Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers and members of the “Ten-Cent Millionaires” will be Honorary Pallbearers. Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, November 5, 2012, and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to honor Marvin may be made to the First Baptist Church, Music Fund, 1116 Mercer St, Princeton, WV 24740.
