Pansie Chambers  Griffith
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7…Pansie Jones Chambers Griffith, 87 of Louisa, VA, a former resident of Princeton, went to sleep to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at her residence. Born May 28, 1925 in Mercer County she was the daughter of the late Samuel McKinley Jones and Mabel Shrewsberry Jones. Pansie was a charter member of the Silver Springs Baptist Church in Princeton. This is the church that she attended as a girl and throughout her life, it was a place that held a special meaning to her. While living in Louisa, VA she attended the First Baptist Church of Louisa. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She shared her smile, laughter, and heart with everyone. Pansie attended and graduated from Mercer County schools and McClain’s Business College in Bluefield. She was a retired Data Processor at H.C. Arnold Accounting in Princeton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Morfeit Mason Chambers; her second husband, Loye Stanton Griffith; and one sister, Gloria Lee White. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Hawkins and husband Wade, and Alice Hawkins and husband Bruce all of Louisa, VA; one brother, Paul W. Jones and wife Sally of Boydton, VA; three step sons, Bill Griffith of Nova Scotia, Michael Griffith and Frank Griffith both of Christiansburg, VA; four grandchildren, Max Gordon and Richard Hawkins both of Northern VA, Tina Walton of Richmond, VA, and Stephen Hawkins of Louisa, VA; one great granddaughter, Caitlin; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Gerald McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Men of the Silver Springs Baptist Church in Princeton will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the service hour on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Springs Baptist Church, 306 Thornton Ave., Princeton, WV 24740.
