Ruby Violet  Anderson
Ruby Violet Anderson, 97, of Crescent City, FL, formerly of 324 Princeton Avenue in Princeton, died Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Lakewood Nursing Center in Crescent City. Born in Rock, WV November 15, 1912 she was the daughter of the late Daniel Lester Sloan and Barbara Lee Martin Sloan. Ruby was a retired sales clerk with Santon’s Department Store in Princeton. She was a member of the Princeton Presbyterian Church where she was formerly active in the Women of the Church, as a Circle Leader and Sunday school teacher. She was a charter member of the Princeton Civic League. Ruby loved her family and especially enjoyed her involvement with the public and the young people in the community. In addition to her parents, her husband, Thomas David Anderson; three sisters, Retis Gleason, Barbara Lee Leeper, and Edith Anderson; and four brothers, John, Herbert, Paul, and David Sloan preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce E. Anderson Depre and her husband August of Saint Charles, MI; one son, Thomas D. “Tom” Anderson and his wife Marjorie of Pomona Park, FL; four grandchildren, Richard Anderson and wife Susan, Dorothea Wall and husband Noel, Lisa Depre, and Kimberly Depre; four great grandchildren, Ricky Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Shannon Anderson, and Jesse Depre; one sister, Irene Wiley of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews including special niece, Clara Jean Taylor and husband Jerry of Princeton. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, October 22, 2010, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Ed Pettus officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 (today). Memorial contributions may be made to the Princeton Presbyterian Church, 1809 W. Main St., Princeton, WV 24740.
